Cars that we use at present times use internal combustion engines that are powered by fossil fuels.The emission from these engines causes air pollution and these fuels are also exhaustible and relatively costly.
Electric cars are an excellent alternative for solving these problems. Electric cars use an electric motor powered by a battery.This means they do not cause air pollution and are more economical due to the cost of electricity.The project we are doing is to build an electric car.To achieve this,we intend to replace the'components like IC engine,fuel tank etc.of an IC engine car and substitute it with Induction Motor,AC Controller and Battery Bank with charger etc. Electro mobility is a promising technology to reduce the carbon emission from individual traffic.Lithium ion batteries are one of the key components of the car and comprise valuable and hazardous materials which have to be recovered by recycling at the end-of-life.We use induction motor,which reaches steady state having constant rotation speed after a transient period which not exceeding 0.4 s in all loading cases of the car.When rotating speed is reduced till stop during running,IM may change its state and run as induction generator current absorbed become negative.
The EV system is an integration of vehicle body,electric propulsion,energy storage battery,and energy management.The technologies involved are diversified,which include electrical and electronic engineering,mechanical and automotive engineering,and chemical engineering.The philosophy and architecture of the system are of prime consideration.System integration and optimization enables perfect matching among subsystems,bearing in mind that the components used in EV are working in mobile and severe temperature conditions
