The Goal of National Service Scheme or N.S.S. as it is popularly known may be listed as follows
• Service for the nation and humanity
• Personality development through social service.
• To develop the personality of its volunteer’s and imbibe in the leadership qualities.
The N.S.S. unit of St. Thomas College of Engineering & Technology has put in a lot of efforts all these years to meet these goals and has been successful to a great extent in doing the same. The N.S.S. unit of our college has the vision to work forward with the mission of forgetting and surrendering one’s self and rendering selfless service to others. The enrolment in this unit is open to all the students of the degree college irrespective of their caste , creed and religion.
Activities
NSS volunteers of St Thomas College of Engineering and Technology visited snehabhavan, Contributed some groceries in the pandemic time.
By identifying the importance of Energy Conservation Day, An Oath were taken by NSS volunteers.
Ex volunteer Secretary Yadhul addressed student volunteers, and shared his experience in NSS.

For the purpose of submitting a study report to the DPTC (district tourism promotion council) regarding the tourism possibilities NSS volunteers has visited the place palukachipara and the micro view hill point at palukachipara,the project identification and a baseline study has completed successfully
St Thomas College of Engineering and Technology, NSS Unit Conducted NSS Seven Day Camp at St Joseph High School Thundiyil, From 09th September 2019 to 15th September 2019.
Volunteers actively participated in Peravoor Thaluk Hospital renovation activities and Muzhakkunnu Health Center renovation activities.
NSS unit of St. Thomas College of Engineering and Technology has renovated telephone pillers of BSNL Panoor. The volunteers cleaned and painted the pillers for preventing corrossion.
Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana (SAGY) is a village development project launched by Government of India in October 2014, under which each Member of Parliament will take the responsibility of developing physical and institutional infrastructure in three villages by 2019. In connection with the implementation of SAGY, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has identified potential institutes in each district of the country and has decided to link AICTE approved institutions with villages adopted by Honourable Member of Parliaments for its sustainable development. As part of this our institute is attached to Kolayad Panchayat which was adopted by Honorable Rajyasabha MP Sri. KK Ragesh.
A development seminar was conducted at Kolayad Panchayat Office on 30/01/2018. The seminar was presided by Sri. Suresh Kumar KP (Kolayad Panchayat President) and inaugurated by Honourable Rajyasabha MP Sri. KK Ragesh.
As part of Punarjjani 2017 NSS unit of St. Thomas College of Engineering and Technology has recreated an asset of worth Rs 5950200 at Kuthuparamba Taluk Hospital. The camp was inaugurated by Smt. K K Shailaja Teacher Honourable minister for health and social justice on 5th September 2017. The programme was precided by Sri. M Sukumaran, Chairman Kuthuparamba Municipality.
International Yoga Day was celebrated in college campus on 21st June. It was inaugurated by MR.Anandhan Veliyambra and he has made a talk on "Importance of Yoga in Modern Life".
