Description

The Present project has been done to determine the suitableness of concrete waste in
pavement construction and maintenance. The construction of roads involves millions of
tonnes of aggregate. And as we have limited resources, we can also go for the replacement of
part of the material or full material, this will also help in saving environmental degradation in
terms of reduced mining and less pollution. In the present project, concrete waste is used in a
granular sub-base (GSB). The research is based on the partial replacement of natural
aggregates with concrete waste. In the present project, we partially replaces the aggregates
with concrete waste and produce suitable mix. In this project, we carried out the following
experiment including sieve analysis, Aggregate impact value test, Aggregate crushing value
test, Los Angeles abrasion value test, CBR test, MDD test ,Liquid limited by cone
penetrometer .Based on the test results, it is found that concrete waste is used as an
alternative material in partial replacement of natural aggregate in the granular sub-base layer.
