Description

Modular construction is a modern era technology in which the building is separated into
small modules. Each module fabricated in a factory under close supervision and transported
to the site. The finished units are installed at the site with the help of cranes and trailers.
The present study aims at comparing the modular construction with the conventional cast in
situ RCC construction. An RCC building is designed in e tabs software and significant
features are added or removed so that the general residential RCC building is converted into a
modular building. A comparative study is conducted on both buildings to identify the
similarities and difference in loading patterns, material quantity, quality and cost of
construction.
